Here are a few things that you need to know about the Honey Hole Lodge

Honey Hole Lodge Rules

No pets

We know that many people like to take their pets with them when they go places and we understand that because we love our pets too.

Unfortunately, we have had some bad experiences in the past with fleas and dog hair on furniture (couch, chairs, beds) from guests’ pets, that made the next guests experience not so pleasant.

We do not want any of our guest to have less than a great experience at the Honey Hole so we’ve made the decision to not allow any pets – including our own – in the camp.

No smoking inside

If you want to smoke, please do it outside. You can smoke on the porches, the dock, the area under the camp or anywhere outside, just not inside the camp.

Cleaning fee

The cleaning fee is $125. When you talk with Paul, he  will tell you where to leave the cash for the cleaning lady.

Our cleaning lady works very hard and depends on this cash to pay her bills. Obviously, the more people that she has to clean up for (beds, linens, etc.) the more work that she has to do.

We suggest an additional tip for parties over 6 people.

Boat lifts

Please raise the boat cradles out of the water when you are done with them.

Cargo lift is not for people

The cargo lift is exactly what it says – a lift for your supplies, clothes, etc. It is not an elevator and is not designed for people. There are no safety features in case of a failure, so DO NOT USE IT FOR PEOPLE.

Keys

When you schedule your stay, Paul will let you know where to find the camp keys and where to put them when you leave.

Fish Rules

Clean up the dock

Wash scales from dock. Try to remove as many scales as you can. The next guests will appreciate it and so will we.

Fish carcasses

Toss fish carcasses as far out into the bayou as possible so they don’t stay under the docks.

The dead fish carcasses will not be washed out from under the docks and will rot.  Nobody likes rotting fish, so please throw them out where the gar and gators can eat them.

Fish in the freezer

Don’t overload the kitchen freezer, your fish won’t freeze if there is no airspace.

We suggest that you bring a small chest freezer if you are optimistic or have a large group.

And please take all of your fish with you when you leave.

A couple of suggestions

Mark your fish

If you are fishing for multiple days, you should mark your bags with the day caught and by who. This can save you a hassle later if you are checked (trust us on this).
